An AR horror game
A hidden world lies over the visible one, wherever you are. Hold up your phone and see who has been standing beside you all along.
What it is
The hidden world, over the visible one.
Kenopsy is a horror game played through your phone's camera. The room you're in, the empty office, the corridor: they look as they always have. Through the phone, someone is standing in them.
They have always been here. You were never meant to see them.
Closer now.
What's here
You'll hear them first.
Someone.
Standing in the space around you, where a moment ago there was no one.
Something, in numbers.
Crawling at the edge of the light. Then closer than the edge.
Their own sound.
From where you weren't looking. Then nearer.
The name
Kenopsy(n.)· KEN-op-see
The eerie feeling of a place that should be busy, and isn't.
The office after everyone has left. The shop before it opens. A waiting room with no one waiting.
Nothing is empty.
Private by design
What the camera sees stays on your phone.
The camera picture is used on your phone while you play, and is never sent to us. Your photographs stay on your phone unless you choose to share them. No account. No name. No email.
Before you start
Play where you can see your surroundings.
Clear your path before you dim the lights. Mind stairs and the people around you, and never play near roads or traffic. You never need to move fast or step backwards.
Kenopsy has sudden loud sound, flashing light and screen movement, with a Reduce flashing switch. If you are pregnant or have a heart, anxiety or other health condition that sudden shocks could affect, ask a doctor before you play. Rated 13+.
Kenopsy is a work of fiction. It does not detect anything real.
